Two Teenagers Injured In Crash On Route M

Two Scotland County teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route M seven miles south of Memphis at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, October 14th.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kyle Coots, 17, of Memphis was southbound on Route M in a 2001 Ford when he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the east side of the roadway, struck an embankment and became airborn.

Coots, and a passenger in the vehicle, Russell L Heck, 19 of Rutledge both suffered minor injuries in the crash and were transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department and the Rutledge Fire Department and the Scotland County Ambulance Service.
