Chamber Announces Winners In Holiday Decorating Contest
The song says deck the halls, but local residents went well beyond their foyers with holiday trimmings for the 2004 Chamber of Commerce Christmas Decorating Contest.
The Jerri Beeler residence in the Ridge Road Mobile Home Park took home the top prize with a combination of festive decorations and lighting.
Second place went to the Allen and Teresa Creek residence on Mi-Lor Avenue. The Ralph and Carol Armstrong home at 518 W. Missouri Street was judged in third place. The top three finishers earned prizes from the MACC. First place was $75 in Memphis Bucks with second taking $50 and third earning $25.
Farley’s Oak Ridge Furniture and Gift Shop was judged as the winner in the Business category of the competition and will receive a gift basket from the chamber.
“We encourage all of you to load the kids up in the car one evening over the holidays and drive around the community and see all these wonderful decorations, said MACC President Chuck Kigar.

Jefferson); Emery and Dorothy Clark in Rutledge and Duane and Sandra Ebeling near Wyaconda.
Other businesses entered in the contest included Countryside Flowers, Memphis Realty, Pepsi-Cola Memphis Bottling Co.; and the law office of Kim Nicoli.
