Dessie Wester, 77, of Shelbina, MO, died January 1, 2004, at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, MO.

Mrs. Wester was born in Hedge City, MO, on August 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Max and Mildred Ann Graham Eyler.

Dessie was first married to Cecil Wharton, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Lyle Wester and he preceded her in death in 2003.

Mrs. Wester is survived by three children, Jim Wharton of Kirksville, MO, Janice Cochenour and her husband, Gary of Arbela, MO, and Larry Wharton of Shelbina, MO; three grandchildren, Chad Wharton of Shelbina, MO, Heather Cox of Macon, MO, and Tony Wharton of the state of Georgia.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Dessie was preceded in death by one son, Bob Wharton; three brothers and two sisters.

Denise was a Christian by faith and had been a spot welder for McGraw-Edson. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held January 5, 2004 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, Jim Bilbro officiating. Burial was in Shelbina Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donorís choice.
