Hilda M. Davis, 86, Olympia Fields, IL, (formerly of Quincy, IL) died January 18, 2004, at the St. James Hospice House in Chicago Heights, IL.

She was born April 30, 1917, in Granger, MO, the daughter of Alonzo Curtis and Ida Bell Nelson Jones.

On June 24,1939, she married Lester Carl Davis in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death April 12, 1972.

Mrs. Davis was a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church and had worked on the assembly line of Motorola.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gattis and her husband, Rev. Larry, Olympia Fields, IL; and Jacquline Hoffman and her husband, Robert, Livermore, CA; a son, Thomas R. Davis and his wife, Amie, Deltona, FL; three grandsons, Leo Scott Skrzynski and his wife, Michelle, Curtis Carl Skrzynski and Kyle Davis; three granddaughters, Susan Hope Hoffman, Rachel Joy Hawkinson and her husband, Jeffrey and Janelle Davis; and a great-granddaughter, Alexa Rose Skrzynski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; four brothers, L.R., Clarence, Eston and Erwin Jones; and three sisters, Madge Daggs, Dorothy Adams, and Reva Nelson.

Graveside services will be January 23, 2004, at the Granger Cemetery, Granger, MO, with the Rev. David Hartsfield officiating. Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy, IL was in charge of arrangements.
