DARRELL STANLEY RIEBEL

Darrell Stanley Riebel, 71, of LaPuente, CA, died April 13, 2004 in Baldwin Park, CA.

He was born February 9, 1933 in Arbela, MO to Alva Clark and Lucille Pearl Stone Riebel.

He was a graduate of Memphis High School and the Gem City Business College at Quincy, IL.

Darrell joined the U.S. Navy Reserves in January of 1952 and joined active forces in June of 1952, having served during the Korean War. He was discharged in August of 1954.

He married Shirley Darlene Wagy on November 24, 1955 and to this union two children, Randall and Lori were born. He married Pamela Ruth Cordero, December 4, 1984.

He worked most of his life as a CPA and a real estate agent. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and especially enjoyed his annual trips to the Memphis area to visit relatives and friends.

Survivors include a son, Randall Riebel and wife, Angie of Thornton, CO; a daughter, Lori Gerger and husband, Klaus of Highlands Ranch, CO; two step-children, Chanel Cordero and Chad Cordero; two grandsons, Sean Riebel and Kyle Riebel of Thornton, CO; two brothers, Roger Riebel and wife, Mareta of Memphis, MO and Jamie Riebel and wife, Doris of Arbela, MO; two sisters, Lurla Meinhardt and husband, George of Memphis, MO and Mary Jane Bergen and husband, Cleo of Cedar Town, GA; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held April 20, 2004 at Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO. Burial, with full military graveside rites by Wallace W. Gillespie Post #4958 of the VFW will follow at the Lawn Ridge Cemetery in rural Scotland County, MO. Brother Jack Sumption officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Randall Riebel, Klaus Gerger, Jay Riebel, Kevin Berger, Kim Meinhardt and Tom Riebel. A memorial is being established by his family. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO, is in charge of arrangements.
