CECIL KIEKEL

Cecil Kiekel, 81, of Perry, MO, died April 10, 2004, at HST Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Cecil was born July 7, 1922 in Woden, IA, to Richard and Helen Kiekel.

He served in World War II and was a US Navy Veteran.

He married Dorothy Crow on April 4, 1946, and she survives.

Cecil was a member of the VFW in Perry, MO. He retired from farming in Gorin, MO and enjoyed his motorcycle, spending most of his time outdoors helping his neighbors and friends and best of all doing his woodworking.

His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; three children, Barbara and her husband, Alan Swearingen, Bonnie and her husband, James Stickler, all of Blue Springs, MO, and Ronald and his wife, Sandra of Dittmer, MO; six grandchildren, Shiloh and her husband, James Cochrane, Brittany Kiekel, Shawn Swearingen and his wife, Jenny, Travis Swearingen, Brian and Mark Stickler and many friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Kiekel.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the VFW Meals on Wheels.

Memorial services were held in the Bienhoff Funeral Home, Perry, MO, April 14, 2004, with Dr. David Pelletier officiating. The body was cremated and will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, at a later date.
