HAROLD E. MUNTZ

Harold E. Muntz, 84, of Farmington, IA, died May 4, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, IA.

He was born August 24, 1919, near Farmington, IA, to Frank E. and Zoe Swift Muntz.

He married Frances D. DeRosear, June 28, 1941, in Kahoka, MO.

He was a life-long resident of the Farmington, IA area and a retired farmer. He entertained locally with songs, humor and guitar music, participated many years in the Farmington Jamboree and loved to play with children.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Wayne and wife, Ann of Memphis, MO, and Ron and wife, Betty of Tecumseh, MI; four grandchildren, Lori, Dan and Kim Muntz and Sheri Dudek; four great-grandchildren, Elke and Kiyomi Muntz and Gene and Josie Dudek; a brother, Keith Muntz of Farmington, IA; two sisters, Elouise Syfert of Keosauqua, IA and Louise Rider of Farmington, IA; and a half- sister, Elsie Bowers of Oklahoma City, OK.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwin Muntz; a half-brother, Kenneth Muntz; and a grandson, Jeff Muntz.

Funeral services were held May 8, 2004 in Farmington United Methodist Church, with Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington, IA. Memorials to Farmington Emergency Medical Service may be left at the Pedrick Funeral Home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 574, Farmington, IA 52626.

Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, IA was in charge of arrangements.
