Gladys Lottie Davis, 95, of Keokuk, Iowa, formerly of Scotland County, MO, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Montrose Health Center.

She was born the daughter of William and Edith (Thomas) Orton on September 23, 1908 in Scotland County, MO.

Gladys married Hugh Authur Davis on May 17, 1925 at Wyaconda, MO. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1963.

She began working for Dryden Rubber in 1947 and retired in 1974, which by that time had become Shellor Globe. Gladys was a member of the Local Rubber Workers Union 444. Earlier in life she had been a member of the Oakridge Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Hughie Alexander Davis; son-in-law, Marion B. Ramsey, Jr.; five brothers; two sisters; two other siblings in infancy; and a great-grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce B. Ramsey of Keokuk; grandchildren: Debbie and her husband Don Adams, Chris and wife Julie Ramsey, Linda and her husband Mike Burdette, and Jana Huele all of Keokuk, Daniel Ramsey of Carthage, IL, and William Davis of Davenport, IA; nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2004, at the Memphis (MO) Cemetery with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in the Memphis Cemetery.
