PAUL ELMO MINOR

Paul Elmo Minor, 78, of Columbia, MO, passed away July 9, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, MO.

Mr. Minor was born June 26, 1926, in Knox County, MO, to Beverly and Elizabeth Anderson Minor.

On March 28, 1969, he married Helen Hammontree in Moberly, MO, and she survives.

He was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was a soil scientist with the USDA for 34 years, with 25 years of service in Columbia. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Parkade Baptist Church and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and MU Tigers. He also enjoyed golf and gardening.

Survivors include his daughters, Cindy Beets, Jeanne Lowe, Cathy Brumitt, Terri Bentley, Deborah Varner, and Kathy Robertson; a sister, Lydia Maurine Barnhouse; a brother, James Minor; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; in-laws, Peggy and Robb Adams, Jo Anne and Frank Foster, Gail and Steve Lee, Dale and Ruth Hammontree.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wanda Kincaid Minor; two sons, Martin Minor and Mark Minor; and three brothers.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Mt. Salem Cemetery Fund at Newark, MO or Parkade Baptist Church, 2102 N. Garth Ave., Columbia, MO 65202.

Services were held July 13, 2004 at Parkade Baptist Church, Columbia, MO, with Rev. Chris Cook officiating. Burial was at Park View Memorial Gardens, Garden of the Cross, Kirksville, MO.
