BILLY N. DAVIS (2/24/1923 - 7/21/2004)

Billy Nicholas Davis, 81, of Memphis, MO, passed away July 21, 2004, at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System in Knoxville, IA.

He was born the son of Wallace W. and Grace May (Kraus) Davis on February 24, 1923 at Gorin, MO.

Billy was a World War II veteran, having patriotically served his country in the United States Army from December 15, 1943 to January 15, 1946.

He was a lifelong member of the Gorin Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Paul Davis, and three children: Charles, Ricky, and Leslie Davis.

He is survived by his three sons: Billy W. Davis of Nebraska, Randy R. Davis of Arizona, and David D. Davis of Illinois; four daughters, Dixie Conn of Colorado, Deanna Nichols of Alaska, Glenda Davis and Sheri Nelson of Memphis; a sister, Madeline Dorsey and a sister-in-law Shirlee Davis of Ft. Madison, IA; his constant companion, Rocky, his dog, of the home; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a great many friends.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. in the Gorin Cemetery. Inurnment will follow.

Memorials are suggested to the family and can be mailed to Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main St., Memphis, MO, 63555.

Condolences may be sent to Mr. Davis’ family via email at Gerth Funeral Service is handling arrangements from their Memphis chapel.
