Elizabeth (Betty) Alice Littlejohn Vezain, 72, of Memphis, MO, originally of Ohio, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2004. She fought and lost a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on April 13, 1932 in Ohio to Henry and Eliza Littlejohn.

She spent her youth helping on her parents’ farm and lived most of her life in Ohio. She always loved a farm. She also enjoyed crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Ronnie Lee Sponseller. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Merl Sponseller.

She is survived by four children, Randy (Valerie) Sponseller of Memphis, MO, Rickey (Sharon) Sponseller of Memphis, MO, William (Rita) of Centralia, IL, and Tamela (Randall) Culver of Memphis, MO; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arleta (Don) Hammon of Ohio.

There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood, OH. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, handled the final arrangements. Donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
