Gayleen B. Schuster, 70, of Memphis, MO, died on September 29, 2004, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, MO.

Gayleen was born October 7, 1933, in Memphis, MO, the daughter of John W. and Geraldine Briggs.

She attended grade school and graduated from the Memphis High School.

On April 10, 1952, she married Richard L. Schuster in Memphis, MO, and to this union two daughters were born.

Gayleen loved to paint, needlepoint, read and did research for genealogy. She also enjoyed her pets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on December 21, 2003, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Gaye Schuster of Memphis, MO, and Jana Schuster Pisani and husband, Mike of Paris, MI; three grandchildren, William, Carina and Geoffrey Pisani, all of Paris, MI; one sister, Judy Whannel and her husband, Paul of Boulder, CO; other relatives, Richard Briggs, Gary Briggs, Robert Briggs, all of Memphis, MO; and Roger Briggs of Rushville, IL.

The family suggested memorials to Scotland County Library or Scotland County Care Center and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Memorial Services were held October 2, 2004, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles Hammack, officiating. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Arrangements are being handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
