LEO N. SMOCK

Leo N. Smock, former resident of Schuyler and Scotland County, MO, passed away November 4, 2004, at the Versailles Nursing Home in Kentucky.

He was born November 4, 1916, in Schuyler County, MO, a son of Mary Margaret Byrn Smock and George L. Smock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mona; one son, Chuck; three sisters; and two brothers.

He is survived by one daughter, Connie (Evan) Brann; one son, George (Kathy) Smock; two granddaughters, Olivia Smock and Stephanie Nunnelly; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He spent his life caring for thoroughbred horses, except for a few years, when he owned a coffee shop in Bentonville, AR, where he became a friend of the late Sam Walton.

Funeral services were held at the Clark Funeral Home in Frankfort, KY, with burial at the Sunset Memorial Gardens at Frankfort. His casket was taken to the burial site by a horse-drawn wagon as the family and friends walked along. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Versailles, KY, and Rev. Bobby Lakes of that church conducted the memorial service.
