Roy Lee VanLaningham, 75, of Granger, MO, passed away November 28, 2004, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

The son of Thomas Milroy and Hazel Amelia (Humphrey) VanLaningham, he was born on June 24, 1929, in Mountain View, MO.

Roy served in the United States Army from October 3, 1946 until February 21, 1947. Upon his discharge from the service, he returned to farming. He later married Judy Paton, who preceded him in death.

For the last five years he lived in Granger, MO.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife.

Survivors include a daughter, Jody Haskett of Marquette, NE; a brother, Carlos VanLaningham of Fairfield, IA; a sister, Doris Duarte of Renton, WA; a nephew, Bob VanLaningham of Kirksville, MO; and three grandchildren of Marquette, NE.

Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date in the Greencastle Cemetery in Greencastle, MO.

Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
