William A. “Bill” Shibley, 87, of Liberty, MO, passed away December 11, 2004, at his home.

Bill was born December 18, 1916, in Pomona, CA.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America and was a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-o-Say, and helped charter Scouting in Liberty, where he served as a leader many years. Bill was a member of Liberty Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and coached Little League Baseball in Liberty for 20 years. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He worked for Trans World Airlines for 25 years, retiring in 1980.

Bill was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris, in April of this year.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mable; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Pam Shibley and Clarence and Denise Shibley; grandchildren, Kelly and her husband Rick, Bryan, and Chris’ wife Sarah; four great-grandchildren, Kaley, Trenton, Autumn, and Drake; his brother-in-law, Charles Atwater and sister-in-law, Doris Atwater; several nieces and nephews.

Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

A Masonic Service was held December 13, 2004, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty, MO. Graveside services were held December 14, 2004, at the Gorin Cemetery, Gorin, MO. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Tribe of Mic-o-Say c/o the Boy Scouts of America.
