Helen Jean Ketchum, 78, of Branson, MO, formerly of the Memphis/Downing, MO area, passed away December 12, 2004, at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX.

Helen was born on July 16, 1926, in Scotland County, MO, the daughter of James and Pearl Smoot Kincheloe.

She married Estel Ketchum on December 19, 1943, in Hayes, KS, and to this union two children were born.

Surviving are her husband, Estel of Branson, MO; one son, Jim Ketchum and his wife, Sue of Odessa, MO; one daughter, Diane McReynolds and her husband, Darrell of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Philip Ketchum, Joel Ketchum, Matt Ketchum, Darrek McReynolds, Danielle McReynolds and Dane McReynolds and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Kincheloe of the state of California, and a host of other relatives including Ardell Arnold and Paul Hale of Memphis, MO.

The family has suggested memorials to the New Horizon Community Church in Branson, MO and may be mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Graveside services were held on December 16, 2004, at the Campground Cemetery in rural Scotland County, MO, with Darrell McReynolds officiating. Pallbearers were Randy Ketchum, Joel Ketchum, Paul Hale, Phil Ketchum, Danielle McReynolds, and Matt Ketchum. Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
