Tigers Fall Short In Shootout With Midgets

While the Tigers were playing the Midgets Friday night, there was no shortage of scoring. Putnam County handed SCR-I its first conference loss in a 83-58 shootout at Unionville, February 6th.

Putnam County poured on the points in the first half, scoring 24 points in each of the first two periods to take a 48-31 advantage at halftime.

The offense slowed down a bit in the second half but not nearly enough to allow a Scotland County comeback. The Midgets led 67-48 after three quarters en route to the big win.

Cody Holt led SCR-I in scoring with 15 points. Aaron Dale finished with 14 and Nick Oldham, Danny Roach and Greg Neagle all contributed seven points apiece. The Tigers dropped to 9-9 on the year and 1-1 in the Tri-Rivers Conference.

Brandon Thomas topped Putnam County (15-3, 3-0) with 20 points.
