Tigers Take Title At Keokuk Golf Tourney

A different format did not have any effect on the Scotland County Golf Team, which bested a field of Iowa teams in the Keokuk Golf Tournament April 3rd.

The tourney consisted of three different competitions. Each teamís top two players competed in individual scoring. The teams #3 and #4 players combined for a best ball tournament while the #5 and #6 players from each team played together in a scramble. Then the scores for the two individual players, the best-ball and the scramble were combined for the overall team score.

Corvin Drummond was the individual medalist, winning the tourney with a round of 82. Jon Morris of Keokuk, IA, was second.

SCR-Iís team of Logan Trueblood and Marcus Shalley won the best ball event.

Scotland County won the team event with a final score of 338. That was well ahead of second place West Liberty, which scored a 351. Cardinal Stritch finished third ahead of Keokuk, Fairfield and Ft. Madison.

Scotland County team members that competed in the tourney were Drummond, Zach McBee, Trueblood, Shalley, Kyle Lister and Nick Oldham.
