Tigers Top Local Rivals At Timber Ridge

The Scotland County golf team continued to enjoy the home cooking as the Tigers swept a four-team golf match at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Memphis April 16.

SCR-I benefited from the home-course advantage, not only taking first place but second place as well, as the Tigers junior varsity squad shot the second best score in the event.

Corvin Drummond led the varsity squad with a one-over par 35. Kyle Lister shot a 38 while Nick Oldham had a 40 and Zach McBee had a 42. Marcus Shalley rounded out the varsity round with a 44. Combined the teamís top four scores gave it a tourney best round of 155.

The SCR-I JV squad sneaked by the Clark County varsity team by just one stroke to earn second place honors with a final score of 173.

Logan Trueblood and Matt Wickert each turned in rounds of 40. Jessie Mattingly had a 46. Andy Cowell shot a 47 and Colby Brown had a 51.

The Indians (174) were third followed by Knox County with a 190 and Canton with a 191.
