Lady Tigers Finish Third In SCR-I Relays

The Scotland County girls track team earned third place in the Scotland County Invitational track meet held in Memphis April 29.

Putnam County won the event with a team score of 150 followed by Knox County with a score of 143.

Finishing behind the Lady Tigers in fourth place was Clark County (92), Schuyler County (55), North Shelby (35) and Canton (13).

Jamie Fuller led the SCR-I charge with a pair of first place finishes. She won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 54.18 seconds. She took top honors in the 100-meter hurdles as well, crossing the finish line in 17.18 seconds.

Leslie Duley was the winner in the grueling 3,200 meter run. She ran the race in a time of 13 minutes and six seconds. Teammate Kelly Cochenour was fourth in the race.

Duley also earned second place points for the team in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 6:20.86, less than a second behind the race winner.

The Scotland County 4 x 400 team finished in second place. Jessie Cotton was the teamís other second place finisher, earning runner-up honors in the triple jump with a leap of 29í2.

The Lady Tigers earned third place points in the 4x100 meter relay. Ali Fromm finished third in the 200-meter run in a time of 29.49 seconds.

Fourth place points were gained by Becky Miller in the discus, Sara Eggleston in the long jump, and the SCR-I 4x200 team. Fifth place points went to Ciera Turner in the 100-meter hurdles and Angie Bulen in the discus. Eggleston and Fromm finished seventh and eighth in the 100-meter dash.
