Wins Over Rams, Midgets Keep Junior Varsity’s Record Perfect

The Scotland County junior varsity football team is off to a perfect 3-0 start courtesy of blowout victories over Schuyler County and Putnam County.

The Tigers bested the Rams 38-6 on September 27th in Memphis. SCR-I jumped on top on the first play of the game as Bryce Blomme connected with Grant Blomme on a 65-yard touchdown pass.

The Tigers defense had just as impressive a start, forcing a turnover on its opening snap.

Zach McBee racked up impressive numbers rushing as he, Colby Brown, Justin Williams and the Blommes accounted for the Tiger touchdowns.

“We would not be 2-0 without solid play from Chris Chabert, Eric Masden, Casey Parrish, Jeremy Broomhall, Kolby Peterson, Lance Smith, Michael Keller and Tyler Henstorf,” said coach Nathan Pippert. “They are controlling the offensive and defensive lines, dominating play on both sides.”

Scotland County continued to dominate the opposition with a 48-6 victory over Putnam County October 4th in Memphis.

The SCR-I defense forced seven Putnam County turnovers. Williams, Kyler Hess and Mitch Tague all had interceptions.

Offensively, the Tigers were able to pass the ball early and that opened up the ground game as the contest wore on.

Bryce Blomme, McBee, Brown, Eric Glass and Jeff Kice accounted for the Tigers TDs.
