Tabletop Drill To Be Focus Of SCERM Meeting

The Scotland County Emergency Resource Management (SCERM) Committee will meet March 24th at the Memphis Fire Station at 6:30 p.m. The meeting’s primary focus will be a tabletop exercise, a planning opportunity for all local emergency organizations to discuss their responsibilities in the exercise’s prescribed disaster scenario.

SCERM consists of both the City of Memphis and Scotland County Local Emergency Planning Committees and Emergency Operations Planning Committees.

Emergency Planning Director Teresa Lee stated the tabletop exercise would fulfill the organization’s annual drill requirement.

“The exercise will be informal and designed to elicit constructive discussion from all participants,” Lee stated. “We will examine and attempt to resolve problems, based on existing plans and procedures. The success of the exercise will largely be determined by group participation.”
