Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Scotland County
A tense morning for residents of the Rutledge area ended when law enforcement officials announced the apprehension of a Schuyler County man.
On April 27, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department broadcast warnings of a fugitive at large in the Rutledge area after a stolen vehicle had been discovered near the rural town just across the Knox County line earlier that morning.
The situation was resolved early that afternoon when 37-year-old Clifford B. Miller was apprehended. Earlier in the day, a stolen pickup truck belonging to Hollie Anderson of Lancaster, had been recovered by law officers.
Miller was taken to the Scotland County Jail and was later transported by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department to the Schuyler County Jail where he is being held on a $10,000 cash only bond on the class C felony charge of stealing a motor vehicle.
