Rutledge Man Seriously Hurt In Accident

A Rutledge man suffered serious injuries in an early morning crash on Route MM, three miles south of Memphis. The accident occurred at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Curt D. Triplett, 31, was southbound in a 2001 Ford pickup when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway. The driver apparently overcorrected and then ran off the right side of the roadway where the truck overturned several times.

Triplett was treated at the scene by the Scotland County Ambulance Service and then was transported by AirEvac helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the ambulance service and the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.

Triplett was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Dynamite’s Wrecker Service.
