Holiday Matinee Movies Set To Begin Saturday
The Memphis Community Players will once again be lending a hand to the local food pantry while also keeping the community’s youth entertained as the holiday season matinee movies are scheduled to begin Saturday, December 3rd.
For the price of just one canned-food item, children can gain admission to the cinema to watch Winn Dixie, Elf and Madagascar.
The doors will open this Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for the showing of Winn Dixie. Elf is scheduled for December 10th with Madagascar closing out the matinee season with a bang on the same afternoon the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a visit from Santa Claus following the end of the movie at the Memphis VFW.
Doors open at 1:00 p.m. each Saturday with the movies set to begin at 1:30 p.m.
This program is brought to you with the combined efforts of the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Memphis Community Players.
“It is the hope of both groups there will be lots of young people in attendance,” said organizer Dr. Harlo Donelson. “Moms and Dads are also welcome to come and enjoy the fun at the Memphis Saturday matinees.”
