J.C. HOSKINSON
(8/7/1923 – 1/11/2005)



J.C. Hoskinson, 81, of Memphis, MO, died January 11, 2005, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

He was born August 7, 1923, in Clark County, MO, to Cyril Baker and Grace Robinson Hoskinson.

He was affiliated with the Methodist Church. He graduated from high school in Cantril, IA.

He married Charlene Blanton on December 5, 1942 at the Christian Church parsonage in Memphis, MO. She passed away on May 14, 1999. To this union three children were born.

He served in the U.S. Army from February 2, 1943 until he was honorably discharged March 6, 1946.

He owned and operated Hoskinson TV Service and worked as a television repairman until he retired in 1997.

He was a 50-year member of VFW #4958, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, served eight years on the Scotland County Court presiding as Associate Judge and served for 12 years on the Scotland County Memorial Hospital Board.

He is survived by a daughter, Candice J. Alderton and her husband, Jim of Wyaconda, MO; two sons, Bill Terry Hoskinson and his wife, Charissa of Memphis, MO and Kent L. Hoskinson and his wife, Rhonda of Quincy, IL; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Howard, Angela Hawes, Bret, Kyle and Sophia Hoskinson, all of Memphis, MO, C.J. Alderton of Columbia, MO, Chris Alderton of O’Fallon, MO, Andrea Hoskinson of St. Joseph, MO, and MaKayla and Lexa Hoskinson, Quincy, IL; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kathryn, Lucas and Michael Howard and Sidney and Madison Priebe, all of Memphis, MO; a sister, Joan Mankopf of Kirksville, MO; and two brothers, Paul Hoskinson of Freeport, IL and Gordon Hoskinson of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The body has been cremated and no service is planned. The family requests that memorials be made to the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, MO. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
