MARGARET ELAINE DAVIS
(3/14/1921 – 1/18/2005)



Margaret Elaine Davis, 83, of Kahoka, MO, died January 18, 2005, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO.

She was born on March 14, 1921, in Gorin, MO, a daughter of Henry and Marie Reed Meyer.

She was united in marriage to Girden “Bud” Davis on January 21, 1945 in Columbus, OH. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1999.

Margaret graduated from high school in Gorin, MO. She then attended Kirksville State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO for two years. She was an elementary school teacher and teacher’s aid for the Clark County R-I School District for many years, retiring in 1993. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kahoka, MO. She had taught Sunday School for 60 years and also played the piano and organ for more than 40 years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. Margaret had a great love for music. She also loved spending time with her family. The love and wonderful memories she has created with her family will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Davis of Kahoka, MO; three sons, Steve Dennison and his wife, Vicki of San Clemente, CA, Daryl Davis and his wife, Jane of Overland Park, KS, and Nick Davis and his wife, Sherrie of Shreveport, LA; one sister, Murline Hustead of Gorin, MO; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 21, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Rick Seaton officiating. Burial was in the Gorin Cemetery, Gorin, MO. Music was by Iris Phillips and Evonne Adams. Pallbearers were Gene Phillips, Keith Zinnert, Buddy Kattleman, Delbert Huckey, Rodney Gares, and Dwight Snead. In lieu of flowers, memorials were made to the Clark County Local Cancer Fund. They may be left at or mailed to Vigen Memorial Home, 278 West Main, Kahoka, MO 63445.
