Harold Wayne Muntz, 62, of Memphis, MO, passed away February 17, 2005, at his home in Memphis.

The son of Harold E. and Frances DeRosear Muntz, Wayne was born September 11, 1942, in VanBuren County, IA.

On July 10, 1963 in Farmington, IA, he wed Anna Louise Kenyon, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Frances Muntz of Farmington, IA; his brother, Ron Muntz and his wife, Betty of Tecumseh, MI; his daughter, Lori Muntz of Marion, IA, and his grandson, Derrick Muntz of Memphis.

Preceding him in death was his father and his son, Jeff Muntz.

In his childhood, Wayne’s enjoyment of music and sports was fostered by his loving parents. In 1960 he graduated from Farmington High School (IA). Early in that decade Wayne began playing guitar in a band with his brother and two friends. The group evolved to include his son, Jeff as drummer.

In 1971, Wayne earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Northeast Missouri State College (now Truman University). He then taught high school science and math. Later he ran an electronics sales and repair business. Wayne enjoyed playing cards and pool with his friends, picnics at the lake and gardening.

Memorials have been suggested to the Hospice 2000 and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Graveside services were held at the Memphis Cemetery, February 21, 2005, with Chaplain Norm Snowbarger officiating.
