RANDY NEWCOMER
(7/9/1960 – 2/19/2005)



Randy Newcomer, 44, of Memphis, MO, passed away at his home on February 19, 2005.

Randy was born July 9, 1960 in Kirksville, MO, the son of Hillis and Barbara (Bissell) Newcomer-Mathes.

He married Melinda Sprague in June of 1983, and to this union three daughters were born.

On November 15, 2003, he married Kim Camp. She survives.

Randy is survived by five daughters, Brittany and Jessica Newcomer of Memphis, MO and Megan Newcomer of Mansfield, MO, Jessica Camp and Julia Stewart and one son, Aaron Camp, all of Memphis, MO; one granddaughter, Rylea Jade Camp, also of Memphis, MO; his mother and step-father, Barbara and George Mathes of Mansfield, MO; one brother, Rick Newcomer of Hartsville, MO; and sisters, Rhonda Hamburg of Mansfield, MO, Tina Riesinger of Lebanon, MO, Cindy Compton and Ginger Mathes of Hurricane Deck, MO; father-in-law, Bill Camp of Memphis, MO; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Faron Fogle of Memphis, MO; a close aunt and uncle, Betty and John Wheeler of Memphis, MO; and a host of other relatives and many friends who were always there for him.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Hillis; an infant brother, Jerry Ray; and both maternal and paternal grandparents; and one special uncle.

Randy enjoyed the outdoors and was well known for his love of gardening, canning and cooking. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting before his health began failing. Randy gave his heart to the Lord in 2003 along with his wife, Kim.

Randy always enjoyed being with friends and family and loved spending time with all his kids. One of Randy’s greatest joys was his granddaughter, Rylea and her calling him “PaPa”.

The family has suggested memorials to the family and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Memorial services were held February 22, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Kirby Goosey, Jon Humphrey, Rick Jack, Jim Wheeler, Rick Gibson, and Rick Newcomer. The body was cremated and private graveside services will be held at a later date.
