Nola Fern Fountain, 76, of Downing, MO, passed away on March 2, 2005, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

The daughter of Elton Lee and Wilma (Jackson) Fincher, she was born on September 24, 1928, in rural Downing, MO.

Nola was a graduate of the Downing High School and attended the Pekin, IL School of Nursing, where she received her training to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was united in marriage to Andy Fountain on May 21, 1986.

She is survived by her husband, Andy Fountain of Downing, MO; her three sons, Ron McElroy and wife, Connie of Elmwood, IL, Jim McElroy and wife, Mila of Skiatook, OK, and Richard Hendricks and wife, Diane of Sarasota, FL; two step-sons, Terry Fountain and wife, Candy of Glasford, IL, and David Fountain and wife, Melissa of Windsor, CA; one step-daughter, Liz Pollitt of Seattle, WA; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Fincher and wife, Norma of Memphis, TN, Don Fincher and wife, Pat of Downing, MO, and Kenneth Fincher and wife, Reva of Junction City, KS; two step-sisters, Roberta Mark of Kirksville, MO and Carol Western of Topeka, IN; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Nola was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held March 7, 2005, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Music was provided by Betty Anderson, organist. Pallbearers were Terry Fountain, Ron McElroy, Rick Hendricks, Gene Bruner, Nick McElroy and Jim McElroy. Memorials have been established for the Downing Christian Church of Downing, MO. Burial was in the Downing City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Downing, MO.
