CLARA CECIL SNODGRASS

Clara Cecil Snodgrass, 96, of Memphis, MO, died March 28, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.
Cecil was born June 9, 1908, at Wilmathsville, MO, the daughter of John W. and Susan Viola Simerl.
She married Victor Snodgrass on December 21, 1934, in Memphis, MO, and to this union one son, Victor Max Snodgrass, was born.
Cecil was a retired teacher having taught in one room rural schools and later in Memphis, Downing and Granger.
When Cecil was a young girl, she was baptized into the Coffey Christian Church, south of Downing, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Floyd, Junior, Eldon; and three sisters, Opal Rood, Nora Baker, and Thelma McClellan.
Surviving are one sister, Irene McClellan of Moline, KS; one son, Max Snodgrass and wife, Marie; four grandchildren, Belinda Jean (Tom) Price, Aaron Victor Snodgrass, and fiancé Lorna McKinley, Carla Jo (Eric) Brown, and David Wray (Jeanne) Snodgrass; 10 great-grandchildren, Joshua Snodgrass and fiancé Karla Swan and Timothy Snodgrass, Anna, Sarah, Martha and Tommy Price, Alexander, Clarissa and Theodore Brown, and Hannah Snodgrass; two great-great-grandchildren, Abigail and Aiden Snodgrass making the fifth generation; also a host of relatives and friends.
The family has suggested memorials to the Coffey Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005, from noon until 8:00 p.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Aaron Snodgrass officiating. Musician will be Arleta Dye, organist. Pallbearers will be Tom Price, Dave Snodgrass, Eric Brown, Alex Brown, Josh Snodgrass, Tim Snodgrass, Aaron Snodgrass, and Max Snodgrass. Interment will be in the Coffey Cemetery, Scotland County, MO.
