Dorothy M. Miner, 67, of Lancaster, MO, passed away March 27, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, MO, where she had been a resident for approximately two and a half weeks.

The daughter of Guy Edward Squires and Vauna (Leedom) Bailey, she was born on September 22, 1937, in Coatsville, MO.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Miner of Waterloo, IA and Mrs. Kirby (Patricia) Gruchow of Brooklyn, IA; one son, Norman Miner of Lancaster, MO; six grandchildren, Jonathan Miner, Eric Anderson, Christopher Roszell, Kirby Cruchow, Jr., Kaelan Cruchow and wife, Laurie and Amanda Fern; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Marjorie) Osborn of Cedar Falls, IA and Betty Rickett of Waterloo, IA; other relatives and a host of friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Debra Ann Miner and one infant sister.

Dorothy was a waitress for several restaurants in the Lancaster area including the Hi-Way Inn, Lancaster Café and approximately 30 years with the Modernaire Café. Dorothy acquired the friendship of many through her career as a waitress.

Memorial services were held on April 2, 2005, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO, with Bobby Beeler officiating. Memorials have been established for the family. Inurnment will be at the Coatsville Cemetery at a later date as the body has been cremated. Arrangements were under the direction of Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO.
