Wilma Juanita McKnight, 86, of Memphis, MO, passed away April 5, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, MO.

She was born September 19, 1918, in Scotland County, MO, the daughter of James H. and Carrie O’Dessie Smith McKnight.

She graduated from the Oak Forest School and lived in Scotland County all her life. She accepted the Lord at an early age and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Memphis, MO.

Juanita enjoyed living with her parents and helping out on the farm, doing embroidery work until she lost her eyesight and also riding on the OATS Bus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Arthur McKnight; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

She is survived by one niece, Helen Prince and husband, Glen of Mendon, IL; and one sister-in-law, Lavaughn McKnight Ketchum and her husband, Jesse and lots of friends.

The family has suggested memorials to OATS, Inc., or the Scotland County Care Center and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held April 7, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Pastor Dan Hite officiating. Musicians were Shelle Cooley, soloist, and Arleta Dye, organist. Pallbearers were David Smith, Joe Doubet, Larry Lloyd, Bill Purvis, Junior Fox and Richard Briggs. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO.
