FRANK RAYMOND DUNCAN

Frank Raymond Duncan, 92, of Downing, MO, passed away April 11, 2005, at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO, where he had been a resident since January 2003.
The son of Frank Elmer and Jessie Martha (Horn) Duncan, he was born on January 1, 1913, in Beloit, KS. Raymond’s mother passed away when Raymond was seven years old. His father later married Alma Evelyn Snook, who raised Raymond and his siblings.
He graduated from the Downing High School with the graduating class of 1931.
On March 28, 1934 in Queen City, MO, he was united in marriage to Mary Madelene Cook and to this union five children were born, Scott, Bob, Ruth Ann, and twins, Jean and Jerry.
Survivors include his children, Scott Duncan and wife, Seena of Springfield, IL, Bob Duncan and wife, Leanna of Downing, MO, Ruth Ann Moots and husband, Francis of Brashear, MO and twins, Jean Moots and husband, George of Hurdland, MO and Jerry Duncan and wife, Betty of Downing, MO; 12 grandchildren, Sherri Williamson, David Duncan, Randy Duncan, Steve Duncan, Mike Duncan, Deanna Shahan, Debbie Frazier, Jodi Moots, Jason Moots, Kevin Harrelson, Khris Gochenour and Brenda Miller; 27 great-grandchildren, Emily Williamson, Meghan Williamson, Lanie Rose Williamson, Justin Thrasher, Evan Duncan, Nichole Duncan, Eric Duncan, Terrance Howard, Preston Howard, Damion Howard, Roxanne Howard, Garren Howard, Canneton Howard, Heather Duncan, Mike Duncan, Jeremy Shahan, Christina Shahan, twins, Karla Frazier and Kelli Frazier, Jacob Frazier, Tesha Hutchinson, Bradley Gregory, Amanda Harrelson, Craig Gochenour, Hannah Gochenour, Brianna Miller and Gabrielle Miller, three great-great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Shahan, Wyatt Shahan and Charlie Green.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary on June 28, 2004; one grandson, Jeffrey Duncan; one great-grandson, Sven Harrelson; three sisters, Alice Ross Blessing, Myrtle Irene Duncan, and Helen Marie Duncan.
Raymond was a member of the Downing Christian Church of Downing, MO.
Raymond was a grain and livestock farmer, a mechanic and also worked for several years at the sale barn in Lancaster, MO for Eddie Norman. Raymond worked hard to provide for his family whom he loved very much. He treasured the happy times when his family would be home for a meal and especially when any of them would stay all night. Raymond was a quiet and mild mannered man who was always willing to help his family.
Funeral services were held on April 14, 2005 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church of Downing, MO, officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Betty Anderson and soloist, Schelle Cooley. Pallbearers were Bob Fugate, Royce Jeffries, Garry Poe, Eddie Norman, Bobby Newland and Larry McDowell. A memorial has been established for the Downing Fire Department Building Fund. Burial was in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, MO. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster and Downing, MO.
