JOSEPHINE N. EAGER
(8/11/1913 4/16/2005)



Josephine N. Eager, 91, was born August 11, 1913, in Memphis, MO, the daughter of John Dudley and Charlotte Morris Newman and died April 16, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

She married William Arland Eager in March 1935, and to this union two children were born, Kenneth M. Eager of Raytown, MO and Leslie E. Davis of Poolesville, MD.

Mrs. Eager was a graduate nurse and for many years operated Eager Plumbing and Heating with her husband. She had many hobbies, but her chief interest in life was always her family.

She is survived by her children; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Eager of Raytown, MO; her son-in-law, Roger L. Powers of Poolesville, MD; five grandchildren, Susan Davis and family of Hindsdale, IL, Chris Eager and family of Kansas City, MO, Teresa Barber and family of Kansas City, MO, Justine Powers of Wellesley, MA, and Charlotte Powers of Poolesville, MD; four great-grandchildren, Honor and Arland Crandell of Hindsdale, IL and Jerrell and Dante Barber of Kansas City, MO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brother and husband.

Graveside services for Josephine Eager were held April 19, 2005, at the Memphis Cemetery with brother Jack Sumption officiating, under the direction of Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO. Memorials have been suggested to the Scotland County Cancer Fund and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.
