BESS M. KASISKE
(1/25/1912 - 4/22/2005)



Bess M. Kasiske, 93, of Springfield, IL, formerly of the Etna area, passed away on April 22, 2005, at the Lynncrest Manor in Auburn, IL.

She was born January 25, 1912 in Etna the daughter of Louis W. and Hettie Bertram Kasiske.

Bess graduated from Northeast Missouri State University. She retired in 1974 after teaching in LaPlata, and then in Roodhouse and at Feitshans High School, Southeast High School, West Grand School and Brown’s Business College.

Ms. Kasiske was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the Esther Circle and 2x2 Sunday school class. She was a member of the Land of Lincoln Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and the Springfield Civic Garden Club as well as volunteering at the Kumler Ministries and Lincoln Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Walter B. Kasiske of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Etna Cemetery with Pastor David Hartsfield officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Springfield.
