ERMA MARY VINCENT (4/9/1915 4/20/2005) Erma Mary Vincent, 90, of Greentop, MO, passed away April 20, 2005, in the Schuyler County Nursing Home, where she had been a resident the past four years.

The daughter of George and Ethel (West) Suiter, she was born April 9, 1915 near Livonia, MO.

On February 1, 1931, in Putnam County, MO, she was united in marriage to Bill Vincent, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1972. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Sandker.

She is survived by one daughter, Irene Armstrong and husband, Ora of Memphis, MO; three sons, Forrest Vincent and wife, Ruby of Greentop, MO, Perley Vincent and wife, Kathryn of Queen City, MO, and Johnny Vincent and wife, Carolyn of Greentop, MO; eight grandsons, Ricky Vincent and wife, Cathy, Joe Vincent, Phillip Armstrong and wife, Mary Margaret, Randy Armstrong, Curtis Barnes and wife, Jennifer, Steve Vincent and wife, Geraldine, Darren Vincent and wife, Julie and Brian Vincent and wife, Hilary; three granddaughters, Connie Followwell and husband, Ronnie, Rhonda Sandker and husband, Herb and Linda Alford; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Erma grew up in the Button area in Putnam County. She attended the Button rural school and the Livonia High School. Following her marriage they lived in Putnam and Schuyler Counties. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed baby sitting her grandchildren. Erma loved to crochet and had crocheted an afghan for all of her family.

She attended church all of her life and was a member of the Good Shepherd Church (now Greentop Baptist). She and her husband were baptized by Pastor Don Rowland.

Funeral services were held April 23, 2005, in the Dooley Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Don Rowland. Tape selections by Rhonda Vincent were played. Interment was in the Rose Cemetery at Graysville, MO. Pallbearers were Ricky Vincent, Joe Vincent, Phillip Armstrong, Randy Armstrong, Curtis Barnes, Steve Vincent, Darren Vincent, and Brian Vincent. The family requests those who wish to express their sympathy in the form of a contribution may do so to the Schuyler County Nursing Home. Contributions may be left at or mailed to the Dooley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 155, Queen City, MO.
