Etta Mae Davis, 96, of Keokuk, IA, passed away April 29, 2005, at her home in Keokuk, IA.

She was born September 7, 1908, at Memphis, MO, the daughter of Fred R. and Mary Elizabeth Hines Orton.

Etta married Willie Adrian Davis on June 21, 1925, at Memphis, MO.

She was a member of the Baptist Church of Memphis, MO.

Etta had been a resident of Keokuk, IA since 1950, and was employed at Shellor-Globe for 18 years having retired in 1967.

She was an avid cookbook reader, enjoyed gardening and thoroughly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Kenny Davis and wife, Iva of Redondo Beach, CA; daughter, Ila Mae Snyder and Dean Johnson of Keokuk, IA; nine grandchildren, Diane Gorell, Rita Kemp, Nancy Isenmann, Patty Runge, Cathy Whiteaker, Terry Snyder, Karen Dean, Cindy Vissepo and Linda Davis; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (in 1967), two sisters, one brother, one son, and two grandsons.

Funeral services were held May 4, 2005, at the Greaves Mortuary, Keokuk, IA, with Rev. John Simpson officiating. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
