VIVIAN IRENE GUNDY
(10/4/1907 –5/6/2005)



Vivian Irene Gundy, 97, of Memphis, Missouri died May 6, 2005 in Scotland County Care Center at Memphis, Missouri. Vivian was born October 4, 1907 in Scotland County Missouri to Bud and Mabel Mae Fincher Walker.

She attended North Liberty Grade School in rural Scotland County. Vivian was united in marriage to Paul L. (Buster) Gundy on October 20, 1934 and to this union two children were born, Paul Verne and Evelyn Maxine.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri where she belonged to the Loyal Women’s Class and was active as long as her health permitted. She was very active in the Friendship Cemetery Association and the Four Corners Ladies Extension Club. She also enjoyed crocheting. She lived most of her life on her farm near Crawford, Missouri where she raised chickens, sold fresh eggs and always raised a big garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister, both of whom died in infancy; her husband, “Buster,” on December 21, 1960; her son, Paul Verne, on April 27, 1992; a sister-in-law, Laverne Alexander and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include her daughter, Maxine, Robinsonand her husband, Robert, of Gillette, Wyoming; her daughter-in-law, Edna Gundy, of Memphis, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Helen Lacy, of St. Louis Missouri and Ann Bloomfield, Memphis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren: Phyllis Tracy, Brookfield, Missouri; Sherri Holt and her fiance, Stacy Snyder, Memphis, Missouri; Steve Gundy and wife Julie, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Dianna Driskill and husband J.L., Alva, Wyoming; David Robinson and wife Barb, Recluse, Wyoming; Scott Robinson, Denver, Colorado; Luana Ruff and husband Jake, Rozet, Wyoming; Jeff Robinson and wife Celeste, Gillette, Wyoming and Tracey Stai and husband David, Gillette, Wyoming. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren, Darren Tracy, Matthew Tracy, Brandon Holt and wife Jeana, Brad Holt and wife Bobbie, Jake Gundy, Katie Gundy, Justin Pownall, Colby Pownall and wife Katie, Jared Pownall, Shane Robinson, Lane Robinson, Megan Starlings, Trevor Ruff, Nolan Ruff, Ali Gaskins, Sydney Robinson, Hayden Robinson and Kylee Stai, and one great-great-granddaughter, Calla Jo Pownall.

She will be sadly missed by family and friends and fondly remembered by those who knew her.

Funeral services were held May 10, 2005 at the First Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri with Bro. Jack Sumption officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery. Casket bearers were David Robinson, Scott Robinson, Brad Holt, Steve Gundy, Darren Tracy, and Stacy Snyder. Vocalist was Angela Westhoff accompanied by Ann Luther.

Memorials may be made to the Friendship Cemetery or the First Christian Church.

Memphis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
