CAROL LEE DOCHTERMAN

Carol Lee Dochterman, 75, of Arbela, Missouri, died September 12, 2005 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

She was born December 18, 1929 in rural Scotland County to William Merritt and Virgil Marie (Stone) Hyde. She attended Crow Grade School and was a graduate of Memphis High School. She married Robert W. Dochterman on April 9, 1950 in Memphis, MO.

Carol worked as a bookkeeper for Auto Credit in Keokuk, Iowa for several years, as well as a waitress for the Catfish Place. She was a member and past president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW Wallace W. Gillespie Memorial Post 4958 in 1961 and 1982-1984. She was also a past District President of the VFW Auxiliary in 1976.

She enjoyed traveling, researching genealogy, and collecting cardinals and frogs. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Arbela, one daughter, Peggy Ann Dochterman of Kansas City, MO, and one son, Ronald Gene Dochterman, of Memphis, MO. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Jennifer Jean Dochterman of Somerville, Massachusetts, and Anna Marie Dochterman and Deidra Alice Dochterman of Memphis, MO; a sister, Mrs. Joetta Fountain of Kahoka, MO; and two sisters- in-law, Edith Dochterman of Kahoka, MO and Irene Hyde of Arbela, MO. Also nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Donald Wayne Dochterman, two brothers, Eddie Reed Hyde and Gary Wayne Hyde, and one grandson Darrin Allen Dochterman.

Funeral services were held September 15, 2005 at the Memphis Funeral Home with Dee Wiley officiating. Linda Bertram was the vocalist and Joan Hinds was the organist.

Burial was in the Combs Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dennis Robinson, Randy Mathes, John Jr. Dochterman, Junior Bertram, Leon Hyde, and Norman Pitford. Memorials may be made to the Combs Cemetery. Arrange-ments were under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home.
