IDA MARIE (HOLTON) REESE

Ida Marie (Holton) Reese, 95, of Kirksville, MO, formerly of Arbela, MO, passed away September 22, 2005, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, MO.

She was born March 30, 1910, on the family farm in the Arbela, MO area. Ida was the daughter of Walter and Lizzie Holton.

Ida attended the Fairview Grade School. Most of her life was spent on the family farm, where she was born.

She married George E. Reese on June 13, 1933, and to this union one daughter was born.

Ida and her husband stayed on the family farm where they farmed and raised their daughter.

Ida joined the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church on August 16, 1931. She enjoyed her grandchildren, growing flowers and taking care of her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and a nephew.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn James of Kirksville, MO; one granddaughter, Deborah Sizemore and husband, Ray of Kirksville, MO; one grandson, Rusty James of Kirksville, MO; four great-grandchildren; Mindy Atkins and husband, Buddy, Michael Sizemore, George James and Jennifer James; two great-great-grandchildren, Brandon Sizemore and Mercedez Harpster; two nieces and lots of cousins.

The family has suggested memorials to the Mt. Moriah Cemetery or to the American Red Cross and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral Services were held September 26, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Pastor Harold Marshall officiating. Music was by Joan Hinds, organist, and Anna Lynn Kirkpatrick, soloist. Pallbearers were Lee Parish, Robert Smith, Steve Robinson, Warren Miller, Mike Aylward, and Wayne Durham. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Scotland County, MO. Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
