Dexter Edgar Rickeberg, 81, of Burlington, IA, passed away at Great River Medical Center’s Klein Center, Burlington, IA, September 18, 2005.

He was born on June 15, 1924, the son of Deck Rickeberg and Florence (Smith) Rickeberg, at Gorin, MO.

Dexter was married to Dorothy (Willson) Rickeberg on November 25, 1945, at Burlington, IA.

He was a salesman and manager at Mid Continent Bottling Co., retiring due to health reasons after 25 years in 1977.

He was affiliated with First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Dexter was a PFC in the Army and served in World War II in Italy, Germany and Africa.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rickeberg of Burlington, IA; daughters, Tresa (Terry) Klaassen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tara (Tom) McCloskey of Tucson, AZ; sons, Tom (Judi) Rickeberg of Clearfield, UT, Trent (Annette) Rickeberg of Burlington, IA, and Troy (Stephanie) Rickeberg of Burlington, IA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Madeline Shacklet of Ottumwa, IA.

Funeral services were held September 23, 2005, in Lunning Chapel, Burlington, IA. Rev. Tom Smith and Mrs. Doris Kulp officiated. Interment was in the Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington, IA. A memorial has been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
