EDNA LEE PETERSON

Edna Lee (Price) Peterson, 95, of Memphis, formerly of Gorin, passed away September 28, 2005 at her home.
She was born the daughter of Owen and Emma Catharine (Adams) Price on August 16, 1910 in Scotland County, MO.
Edna was united in marriage to Fred Peterson on December 23, 1933. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1994.
Fred and Edna lived on their farm near Gorin for over 50 years. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1993.
Edna was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; son, Francis (Randy) Peterson, daughters, Emma Lee Huling and Sharon Kay Peterson; parents; sisters, Aletha Comley, Nancy Peterson, Drucilla Peterson, and Lucy Haller; brothers Milton Price, Benjamin Price, and Owen Price; grandsons, David Leon Huling and Joseph Givens; an infant granddaughter, Marilyn Sue Bissell; sons-in-law, Kenneth Huling and Jack Givens; daughter-in-law, Judi Peterson; a great-great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her daughters, Helen and husband Bob Bissell of Pulaski, and Beverly Givens of Memphis; a son, Samuel Peterson of Gorin; 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held October 1, 2005, at the Gorin Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Deatrick and Pastor Lee Oliver officiating. Special musical tributes were provided by Helen Bissell, Bobbie McCarty, Jackie Doubet, and Sandra Swearingen. Jeff Givens, John Peterson, Allen Peterson, Dennis Peterson, Kenny Huling and Andy Helton served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Gorin Cemetery.
