VIRGINIA L. KIRKPATRICK

Virginia Louise Kirkpatrick, 92, of Memphis passed away November 30, 2005, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

She was born the daughter of William Don and Myrtle (Roberts) Burrus on January 5, 1913 near Bible Grove.

Virginia married Harry Kirkpatrick on December 28, 1942 at Kirksville. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1993.

During World War II, Virginia and Harry worked for Caterpillar in Peoria. In the late 1950s, they returned to Missouri to manage the family farm until they retired to Greensburg in 1972.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; three sisters, Velna Faye (in infancy in 1925), Ina June Kennedy Hall in 1981, and Irma McRobert in 2004; and her only brother, Richard Burrus in 2000.

She is survived by her three sisters: Agnes Robinson of Moberly, Iris Ott of El Centro, CA, and Donna Doty of Memphis; 13 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; and 33 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held December 3, 2005, in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Darrel Stone, Max McRobert, Paul Townsend, Bill McRobert, Eugene Kennedy, and David McRobert. Burial was in the Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, MO. Memorials have been suggested to the Greensburg Christian Cemetery and can be left at or mailed to Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main St., Memphis, MO 63555.
