Ennola L. Nicholas, 97, of Memphis, MO, passed away December 16, 2005, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

She was born March 29, 1909, in Memphis, MO, the daughter of Joseph John and Nellie (Hoover) Zumsteg.

She married Jack Nicholas, February 14, 1967, in Vallejo, CA. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1990.

Ennola taught school at the Scotland County R-I Schools. She was a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church and was very active in the Rebekah Lodge, along with the Eastern Stars before they closed in Memphis. Her other interests were playing the piano, raising flowers and living in the country as long as her health permitted. She moved to the R.C.F. in Memphis in 1998.

She is survived by several relatives and friends, along with one special friend, Druzella Winn and her husband, Albert of Memphis, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the Scotland County Care Center and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held December 19, 2005, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. Musicians were Joan Hinds, organist, and Schelle Cooley, soloist. Pallbearers were Wayne Winn, Rex Winn, Jimmie Winn, Mark Monroe, Darrell Monroe, and Leroy Huff. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO.
