Meagan Fromm Named Wilson/MIAA Player of the Week

Meagan Fromm was named Wilson/MIAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week coming off her performance in Central Missouri State University’s appearance in the holiday tournament in Hawaii.

Fromm, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Memphis, averaged 19 points off the Central Missouri State University Jennies’ bench and helped CMSU to its best start (9-1) since the 1995-96 campaign with two wins at the Hoop ‘N’ Surf Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, December 19-20.

She scored a career-high 23 points as the Jennies rolled to an 84-50 victory over Arkansas Tech on December 19. She accounted for 11 points in a 27-12 run which saw the CMSU lead go from four to 19 points in the first half, as the Jennies would go on to hold a 43-24 lead at the half. Fromm was 9-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

In the 90-65 win over St. Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) the next day, Fromm once again led CMSU with 15 points — one of four Jennies in double figures. She was 5-of-12 from the field, 3-of-7 from three-point range, and 2-of-3 at the foul line. The 15 points was two shy of her career high before the ATU game.

Fromm is a graduate of Scotland County R-I High School.

Previous Winners of the honor were: 11/22 — Jenny Hancock, F, SBU; 11/29 — Aubrie Hallman, G, MSSU; 12/7 — Jennifer Harris, G, WU; 12/14 — Jennifer Harris, G, WU.

Others nominated for the award were Esmary Vargas-Sanchez, C, ESU; and Vonny Wilson, F, MSSU.
