LaPlata No Match For SCR-I In 1st Round of Tournament

The Scotland County mascot is a Tiger but on Monday night at the North Shelby Tourney the Lady Tigers played the role of dogcatchers as they rounded up LaPlata and sent the Bulldogs to the pound with a 66-28 defeat.

SCR-I blew the game wide open in the opening minutes with a 23-4 run. The two teams played a balanced second period but the Tigers still led 35-14.

The third period witnessed another Scotland County run as the margin grew to 56-24.

Ten different Lady Tigers scored during the contest that saw coach Kelli Swearingen spread the playing time out amongst all 12 players.

Ali Fromm led the way with 20 points. Angie Bulen finished with nine points and Brittney Courtright added eight as SCR-I improved to 8-6 on the year.
