Lady Tigers Roll Over Raiders En Route To Championship Game

There was no doubt the second-seed Scotland County Lady Tigers had their eyes set firmly on a Saturday match-up for the championship of the North Shelby Tournament. But SCR-I did not overlook its semi-final opponent, North Shelby, as the Lady Tigers took care of business Thursday night with a 65-38 drubbing of the host team in front of a full house.

Neither team lit up offensively in the first quarter as SCR-I built a 13-6 lead. That changed in the second period as Scotland County went on top 30-19.

The margin was 46-33 heading into the final eight minutes when the Lady Tigers went on a 19-5 run to seal the deal.

Ali Fromm paced the SCR-I offense with 26 points. Ashlee Frederick chimed in with 12 points and Valerie Crawford added 10 as the Lady Tigers improved to 9-6 on the year and advanced to the tournament title match against top-seeded Marion County.
