SCR-I Sweeps Quiz Bowl Matches From Rams

Scotland County continued to roll through the Tri-Rivers Conference picking up victory #4 in league play on March 21st. The Tigers knocked off the Rams 280-185 for the win.

SCR-I opened an 80-40 lead in the first period. The margin grew to 150-95 at the intermission. The game remained close in the third period before Scotland County ultimately went on top by 100 points en route to the win.

Lance Smith led a balanced scoring attack answering seven toss-up questions. Julie Triplett answered six questions while Loren Billington and Michelle Lodewegen each answered three questions.

The junior high match went even better for the Scotland County squad, which blew out the Rams 425-260.

After falling behind early in the first period, the Tigers nailed the final six toss-up questions in the first quarter to build a 90-50 lead.

The run continued to open the second period as Scotland County outscored the Rams 80-10 on the first four bonus questions to expand the margin to 170-60. By the end of the first half SCR-I had doubled up on Schuyler County to lead 250-120 and cruised to the easy win.

Christina Duzan topped all scorers by answering nine toss-up questions. Brett Courtright answered eight questions while Matthew Dice answered four. Ben Wiley, Zach Mallett and Jeff Kice each answered three questions.
