SCR-I Golfers Maintain Home Court Advantage

Practice makes perfect, so it is easy to see why a golf team would do well on its home course, where it practices daily. Thatís been the case for the Scotland County Golf Team, which remained perfect at home by sweeping a triangular meet over Canton and Schuyler County on April 5th at Timber Ridge.

The Tigers blew away the competition, carding a team score of 146. They easily bested Schuyler County, which scored 170 followed by Canton at 185.

Zach McBee was the meetís individual medalist, scoring a 34. McBee carded eight pars and just one bogie, to finish one over par on the day. Three Tigers finished with rounds of 37 to complete the impressive performance. Kyle Lister and Matt Wickert each parred six holes and added three bogies. Joe Spurgeon was the lone Tiger to record a birdie on the afternoon as he too had a 37.

The SCR-I junior varsity actually finished third on the day with a score of 176 to beat the Canton varsity. Logan Trueblood, Travis Trueblood and Andy Cowell all scored rounds of 42. Colby Brown rounded out the team score with a 50.
